Following on from the successful planning consent for Hidden House 01, EDable were approached by a nearby client with a very similar site with a complex planning history. The Hidden House 02 site benefits from an existing and comparatively new garage on the site with a basement. Adopting a similar approach to ‘hide’ the new home, this time we worked with the existing garage, which with the addition of a modest glazed rear lean to at the rear and a half level courtyard at the front can accommodate a well-proportioned family home. Care was taken to maximise soft landscaping around the house to provide improved drainage, natural habitats and ‘internal’ views. The scheme also significantly improves the neighbour’s view whilst providing a private family home.
